My artwork is a form of self-expression, an important process that helps me make sense of my experiences. Creating helps me communicate thoughts, feelings, experiences, and dreams which I might not otherwise be able to fully express.

My paintings constantly amaze me as they are always a co-creation. Most of the time when I am creating it is such a moment to moment experience, it is almost a down-the-rabbit-hole-like journey! Often I do not know what will reveal itself next.

Many of my pieces start with just three colors. A brief sweep of the brush and an image appears. I follow the lead of the paint and the spirit that wants to come through.

I have been painting my dreams—or I should say trying to—for years now.

My style is the result of explored tools, all the things I have absorbed over my lifetime. I have always had an appreciation for art and a great a sense of curiosity. I have developed the ability to notice and follow the leads that my art shows me. And finally, the repetition of creating art over and over has honed my personal style.

Painting is the creation of certain aesthetic qualities in a two-dimensional visual language. The elements of this language, its shapes, lines, colours, tones, and textures, are used in various ways to produce sensations of volume, space, movement, and light on a flat surface.
