Last week I got some news that was very upsetting to me and, unfortunately, I didn’t sleep well that night. Finally, at 4 AM, in those beautiful hours called the ambrosial hours, I decided to get up and paint.
I turned on all of the lights and finished a painting I had been working on for a couple of weeks. That one is called Secret Messages.
For three hours, I was so totally immersed in the creative process that I didn’t think about anything else. I also started the underpainting for three other pieces. That early morning I started working on one of a collection of women in their elements.
As women—the feminine energy—we are the creators of everything on the planet.
We hold creation in our bellies, in our wombs, and in simply being here.
You know the old saying, “BE HERE NOW!?”
It truly works. I moved through the rest of the day without any anxiety and felt very satisfied and content with myself.
Being creative certainly does have its qualities.
